IT was fitting that the Knights' greatest No.7 was on the sidelines to see the incumbent No.7 reach the magic 300-game milestone at McDonald Jones Stadium on Sunday.
Andrew Johns was back in town for his commentary commitments with Channel Nine, no doubt hoping to see the Knights get the points for Mitchell Pearce in his big game.
The Wests Tigers, of course, had other ideas and went to spoil the party.
The Knights didn't help their cause, making a succession of costly errors to let the game slip.
And everyone in red and blue in the crowd of more than 20,000 could relate to this shot taken by Herald columnist Paul Scott on Sunday - the Eighth Immortal with his hand to his head, covering his eyes after another Knights' mistake.
The picture was doing the rounds on Instagram and Johns set the record straight.
He wasn't lamenting the fact the Knights had thrown the points away.

"Golden Slipper Saturday. Backed the winner. Do the math," he posted in reply.
Backing up for work after a big one is never easy, even when you're the Eighth Immortal.
What hope do we mere mortals have?
