Revealed: UK's mostly costly motorways to take a wrong turn

The UK's worst two motorway junctions to take a wrong turn or miss have been revealed.

Drive past a junction on the M26/M25 in Kent and it will take you 36 miles to get back on track, according to insurance experts Quotezone.co.uk.

If motorists miss the southbound exit on the M26 and accidentally end up on this 'road to hell' then they will have put half an hour on your journey.

Here is a list of the top 10 UK’s worst motorway junctions to take a wrong turn.

Quotezone.co.uk founder Greg Wilson said: "The M25 orbiting our nation’s capital has been described as 'the road to hell', but if you end up on that road by accident and have to slog your way through London congestion for 18 miles before you reach a suitable exit, you won’t feel like you’re hell-bound – you’ll feel like you’ve already arrived.”

"With a typical British motorist spending two full months of their lives, day and night, stuck in traffic jams, avoiding the country’s worst wrong turns could truly make a world of difference."
