Revealed: The top Fantasy Football scorers in the Championship this season including Leeds United and Nottingham Forest stars

It’s not just the Premier League season which is set to end this weekend, with the Fantasy Football season drawing to a close with Sunday’s games the last action.

Throughout the season fantasy managers have compared scores and worried about substitutions with Mohamed Salah looking set to be the top scorer in fantasy football.

But what if the world of fantasy sports weren’t just restricted to the top division of English football? What if you could play across the 46 games of the Championship season with your friends too?

Five bold striker targets who could fire Bristol City forward next season

Ben Mayhew at Experimental 3-6-1 has run the numbers, using the scoring system in the offical Premier League game of goals, assists, clean sheets and other statistic, and figured out this season’s top fantasy scorers in the Football League.

As Mayhew explains: "The only element of the scoring which I haven’t been able to apply is the bonus points, as these include stuff like tackles and passes for which there isn’t data available (at least to me).

"Also I think the FPL rules are a bit more generous around assists, but overall I think it gives a reasonably accurate impression of what would happen if they rolled it out across the EFL.

"although if this were a real game you probably wouldn’t be able to afford to put all of them in the same team."

In goal, Middlesbrough shot-stopper Darren Randolph earns most points with 188, just ahead of Sheffield United’s Dean Henderson on 182 with the Blades stopper actually finishing the season with more clean sheets 21-19 than the Republic of Ireland international.

Henderson is one of four Blades to make the team, with Enda Stevens (187 points), Jack O’Connell (156) and John Egan (150) earning a place in defence alongside Millwall’s Jake Cooper (161) and Swansea City right-back Connor Roberts (152).

Joe Lolley’s 184 points are enough to see the Nottingham Forest winger, who claimed 11 goals and 11 assists, top the charts in midfield just ahead of Blackburn Rovers playmaker Bradley Dack who weighed in with 15 goals and seven assists.

Leeds United duo Pablo Hernandez (177) and Mateusz Klich (173) also earn a place in the squad with Hull City’s Kamil Grosicki rounding out the midfield on 164 points.

Fellow Tiger Jarrod Bowen’s ever-presence in the Hull team, scoring 22 goals, has been good enough to claim 184 points but he is still outscored up front by Brentford’s Neal Maupay on 200 points and Norwich City star Teemu Pukki - the champions’ only representation in the team - topping the charts entirely with 225 points, unsurprising given he finished the season on 29 goals.
