Revealed: The most expensive properties sold in the North East in November

The stylish suburbs of Ponteland and Gosforth were home to some of the most expensive property sold in the North East in November.

A detached house on the outskirts of Newcastle sold for more than £1m last month, while countryside and seaside properties also changed hands for huge sums.

According to the Land Registry, 24,548 residential sales have been registered from November 2019. Across England and Wales, there were 512 £1m or more sales, compared to 545 registered in October, including 97 at £2m or more.

The most expensive property sold was in Kensington and Chelsea for £49.6m, while Northumberland was home to the cheapest property in the whole country, which sold for £15,000.

The only house on the list going for more than a million is this detached house in Ponteland.

Described as a "magnificent, stylish, detached family house" when it sold, it boasts five bedrooms and a marble spiral staircase.

Set in Gosforth close to the Town Moor this luxurious home came with large gardens and five large bedrooms for its hefty asking price.

Beach Road, South Shields

Sold for £771,905 on November 15

According to government data, the value of this home soared whopping 328.84% on the last time it was sold, up from a previous sale price of £180,000. It's noted that his sale may have been a buy-to-let, a transfer to a company, or a repossession.

This detached house featured five bedrooms and stylish modern design, and sold for a little under its £800,000 asking price last month.

A three-storey house on this exclusive street in Gosforth featured a tree-lined garden and six bedrooms. It stands close to Kenton Road, where another of the month's most expensive  properties lies.


Outskirts of Sandhoe, Hexham, Northumberland

Sold for £700,000 on November 5

An "individual and distinctive" barn conversion with views over the Tyne Valley makes up the sixth entry on November's list. Converted in the 1980s the bar features a huge garden room and extensive grounds surrounding it.

A new build house in a luxury new development within the grounds of Newcastle Racecourse was another of the month's most expensive purchases.

The Plantations, Wynyard, Billingham, Stockton

Sold for £692,500 on November 8

When this detached house was put up for sale it was described as "modern mansion", which sits in it own woodland gardens.

Wylam Wood Road, Wylam, Northumberland

Sold for £640,000 on November 7

A semi-detached house in the picturesque village of Wylam enjoys a "stunning" location which reeled in a buyer last month.

Sold for £635,000 on November 15
