Revealed: The identity of the two Newcastle United fans who want a day in court with Premier League

Two Newcastle United fans have ramped up pressure on the Premier League to give some transparency on why this summer's takeover fell through.

The Premier League refused to sanction the bid from Amanda Staveley, the Reuben brothers and Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund to take the keys from Mike Ashley after 13 miserable years under the Sports Direct tycoon.

Newcastle supporters Gordon Stein and Keith Patterson have teamed up with Robert O’Donoghue QC of Brick Court Chambers as they look to get the rejection of the £340million proposal overturned.

The Newcastle Consortium Supporters Ltd - who will be known as "The Supporters" are described as a "limited company set up by life-long Newcastle United fans who are united in their love for the club and desire to see it succeed."

The company’s Registered Address is 71-75 Shelton, London, WC2H 9JQ and the Company Number is 12895615.

Its current Directors are Mr Stein and Mr Patterson.

An email, seen by the Chronicle, states: "Our clients are also supported by Robert O’Donoghue QC of Brick Court Chambers who has provided significant input in the preparation of the case set out in this Letter Before Action."
