Revealed: The Companies House documents that confirm FPP Sunderland's investment in Sunderland

These are the Companies House documents that confirm FPP Sunderland's investment in Sunderland AFC.

It was revealed earlier today that Sunderland had reached an agreement for the US-based group, that consists of businessmen Glenn Fuhrman, John Phelan and Robert Platek, to inject a 'significant' investment into the football club.

The deal will not see the businessmen become shareholders of Sunderland and the current ownership of Stewart Donald (74%), Juan Sartori (20%) and Charlie Methven (6%) remains in place.

And that investment has been confirmed in paperwork lodged to Companies House this afternoon relating to Sunderland AFC.

As you can see in the pictures above, a statement of capital was processed this afternoon showing the SAFC Ltd share capital and share premium accounts have been reduced to £1m.

The total investment figure the group are expected to inject is in the region of an eight-figure sum and it has been described a 'significant cash injection' for a club outside of the Premier League.

Speaking about the deal, executive director Methven told the Sunderland Echo: “Our agreement is confidential and I wouldn’t want to speak for the investors on that [long-term plan], but obviously this is a very large sum of money for an investment outside the Premier League and will enable the club to have strategic certainty for the next couple of years.

“It’s a very significant cash injection at any level outside of the Premier League.”
