Revealed: The alarming relegation odds issued to Newcastle United after Leicester City hammering

Newcastle United's 5-0 hammering at Leicester City has resulted in a dramatic slide in the relegation odds.

Despite the fact United have endured a tough start to the season in terms of fixtures and currently sit second bottom in the table, the majority of bookies now believe that the club will not only go down, but finish rock bottom of the table.

Newcastle are now favourites to finish bottom at 10/11 with a clutch of betting companies including Betfair, Paddy Power, Sporting Bet, Bet 365 and Bet Fred.

Newly promoted Norwich City and Aston Villa are favourites to go down with them at the moment, while Watford, Sheffield United, Brighton & Hove Albion and Burnley are fancied to stay up.

Norwich, Villa and Sheff United are 6/4 to go down with a host of bookmakers with Brighton at 9/4 with Ladbrokes and Sky Bet and Burnley handed a price of 4/1 with Sky Bet and Marathon Bet.

The Magpies face a tough encounter with Manchester United this weekend before heading to Chelsea after the international break.

With Norwich and Aston Villa facing each other on Saturday at 3pm meaning the heat could be cranked up a notch in the bottom three ahead of Newcastle's battle with the Red Devils.
