Revealed - the 2019 LeicestershireLive Business Executive of the Year Awards finalists

Some of the people helping shape the UK’s economic landscape will be honoured at the annual LeicestershireLive Business Executive of the Year Awards next week.

The event recognises the most successful businesspeople from across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland for their achievements over the past year and beyond.

As well as being leaders within the region’s business community many are also key figures on the national and international business scene, contributing to UK Plc in these tense political and economic times.

The finalists have been picked by a judging panel made up from some of the region’s top lawyers, business managers, bankers, and educationalists – overseen by the Leicester Mercury’s business desk.

Headline sponsor for 2019 is the University of Leicester.

The winners of each category will be announced at a black tie awards at the King Power Stadium – home of Leicester City FC, currently third in the Premier League – on Tuesday, November 12.

The night will also see a lifetime achievement award handed out to someone who has made an outstanding contribution to his or her sector over the years.

There will also be an overall business executive of the year.

David Heys, managing director of category sponsor Lawson West Solicitors said picking finalists from the long list of nominations had been a tough – and rigorous – process.

He said they were proud to be associated with the awards, as one of the key objectives of his firm is to help business owners succeed.

He said: “What better way of supporting local growing businesses and their owners than being involved with the LeicestershireLive Business Executive Awards.

“During my career as a commercial lawyer, I’ve seen all types of business and all types of business owner over the years and there’s no magic wand that can make a business succeed or fail.

“In my view business success is down to the people in the driving seat and their level of commitment and tenacity to make their company or product stand out.

“It’s one thing keeping an eye on the business, it’s another thing to keep it profitable.

“Business winners in my mind are those who manage to juggle both concepts.

“Lawson-West Solicitors is truly proud to support the Medium Business Executive category.

“It’s so important to recognise business achievement when we see it, because it’s hard-won by those of unspoken and relentless skill, natural ability and flair.

“At Lawson-West, we want to celebrate the achievements of all the nominees in the forthcoming awards. Good luck to everyone.”
