Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder is making progress in the transfer market and is confident of completing at least one new signing this week, amid suggestions Nottingham Forest defender Jack Robinson is
The Blades boss is looking for reinforcements in defence, and possibly midfield, as he looks to consolidate the club's position in the Premier League during the second half of the season and build on an impressive return to the top flight thus far.
A potential new signing was being shown around the club's training ground on Monday morning and the PA news agency understands an announcement about a new signing could even be made later on Monday.
Robinson has fallen down the pecking order at the City Ground of late, being left out of the last two Championship matchday squads.
Wilder said: "We're still looking. I work with the board and if I don't think players are available or can't get them for financial reasons, then we move on.
"Always, there is a list of players who we want to try and add to make us stronger for the second part of the season. I am always trying to maximise what I am given by the board.
"But if it is not there, I am not going to bring in players for the sake of it. We will carry on with what we have got.
But I believe we will get one or two definitely in, in the next week."
Robinson is out of contract at the end of the season, but the Sheffield Star say the Blades "would be willing to pay a fee to secure his immediate release rather than wait until the summer".
