Revealed: Old Trafford makeover as Manchester United host Sheffield United in first home game since restart

Old Trafford will have a new look as Manchester United host their first game since the resumption of the Premier League campaign against Sheffield United on Wednesday.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are looking to keep their bid for a top four finish alive against the Blades, who are also still in the running for European qualification.

Like other Premier League sides, United have installed ‘seat wraps’ around lower tier stands at Old Trafford for games set to be played behind closed doors.

In the upper tier stands will be a giant mosaic of fans’ faces, with more than 40,000 supporters from over 190 countries sending across digital images of themselves for the project.

The mosaic will also feature on parts of the lower tiers of the East Stand and the Sir Alex Ferguson Stand.

Banners will also feature in the Stretford End, including one featuring a famous quote from club legend Sir Matt Busby, ‘Football is nothing without fans’.
