Revealed: Nottingham Forest's transfer fee for Jack Robinson

Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder has revealed how much he spent on Jack Robinson from Nottingham Forest.

Robinson officially joined the Blades yesterday, the club's first outgoing of the month and the second left-sided player to move from Forest to Wilder's side in as many transfer windows.

Following Ben Osborn, who departed in the summer, Robinson moved for an officially undisclosed fee but Wilder has made public the transfer fee for the former Liverpool man.

Robinson, 26, made 19 appearances in all competitions this season starting 16 times with the move up to the top-flight surprising some Forest fans.

However, he had fallen behind Yuri Ribeiro and Chema Rodriguez in the pecking order at left-back and made just one outing in the last six games.

In the end it was a move that benefitted all parties.

“We spent £500,000 tonight on a player, which I’m not embarrassed about," he told the Blades' TV channel.

"There are different ways to spend your money and we’re trying to build.

“I could have gone and spent five or six million pounds, but I’d have wasted four and a half million of it because there’s a boy there who’s competitive and will push Jack O’Connell close.

“Jack Robinson was a player I’ve been trying to get for two or three years. I tried to get him when he was at QPR and he went to Forest.

“He suits our system, his pedigree is great starting off at Liverpool.”
