Revealed: Newcastle United's new home kit for the 2019/20 season

Newcastle United have launched their new home kit - and have revealed that they hope to be inspired by the last team to win a major trophy at St James' Park.

The new kit features a round neck and has vibes of the jersey worn when the club won the Fairs Cup back in 1969.

A statement from the club read: "United have unveiled its brand new 2019/20 PUMA home kit, which pays tribute to the 50th anniversary of the club’s Inter-Cities Fairs Cup win.

"Just like the black and white jersey proudly worn by the stars of 1969, the new home shirt will feature a familiar black round-neck collar with white trim, while a tonal crest will adorn the Magpies’ classic black and white stripes.

"The club's primary partner, FUN88, will proudly feature across the front of adult shirts.

"The kit will again feature black shorts, while traditional black and white turnover socks - as worn by Joe Harvey’s triumphant side - also make a return."

United's Fairs Cup side have just returned from Budapest after celebrating the 50th anniversary of beating Újpest Dósza.

The home shirt is available on pre-sale at  nufcdirect.com  from  9am on Wednesday 19 June  and will be available for delivery and in stores from Monday 1 July.
