Newcastle United are in the top ten most successful clubs of all time – a place ahead of regional rivals Sunderland.
In a new table that reveals the top 30 all-time top flight clubs, United are ninth.
Amazingly the English top flight is now 131 years old with the first organised season taking place in 1888.
It was a time of Queen Victoria, Jack the Ripper and the first motion picture. Preston North End were the first champions and every year since, with the exception of the war years, teams across the land have competed to be crowned the best.
Liverpool currently hold the best overall record in league despite Manchester United holding the most titles.
A fan has now posted a table to Reddit which aggregates all the wins, losses and draws in the top-flight over the past 131 years.
Liverpool come out on top, with 1,934 wins and 6,833 points. That is 100 points higher than Arsenal with rivals Everton in third.
Everton may hold the record for the most top flight games but they have also suffered more losses than any other team - 1,546 to date.
Aston Villa, Man City, Spurs, Chelsea, the Magpies and the Black Cats make up the rest of the top ten.
