Angus Kinnear has provided some insider information on how the Leeds United dressing room embraced teenage talent Oliver Casey after his first-team debut.
The 19-year-old defender, who is highly-rated from his time with Carlos Corberan's under-23s, has also reportedly impressed Marcelo Bielsa personally.
The Leeds head coach said Casey has developed well in first-team training over the past month and deserved his opportunity, after he came off the bench to help United see out the 2-0 win over Yorkshire rivals Huddersfield Town.
Casey was a surprise inclusion in the matchday squad for the trip to the John Smith's Stadium, but the club's managing director has revealed how he was made to feel welcome by Bielsa and his team-mates.
With Kalvin Phillips out suspended and club captain Liam Cooper sidelined, United were without two key players in their defensive unit for the Huddersfield game, but an unorthodox line-up with players out of their natural position managed to get three points from the Terriers.
"Marcelo, once again, demonstrated his unique ability to seemingly get any combination of players to embrace his system," Kinnear wrote in the pre-Hull City programme notes.
"None of the outfield defensive five were playing in their recognised positions, yet still we secured an 11th league clean sheet of the season.
"The dressing room after the game was typically buoyant with Marcelo leading a round of applause to recognise the professional debut of 19-year-old Oliver Casey who came on as a second-half substitute for an assured cameo."
