Revealed: 2022 LeicestershireLive Business Awards finalists include a motorbike giant, country hotel and national housebuilder

Barratt Homes, Triumph Bikes and Ibstock Brick make up just some of the finalists in this year’s LeicestershireLive Business Awards.

Today we can reveal the businesses which have made it through to the finals prior to the black tie awards night which takes place at the King Power Stadium on Thursday, October 13.

We can also reveal that the night will be hosted by Ben Hanlin, star of the award-winning ITV2 shows ‘Tricked’ and “Ben Hanlin’s Live & Deadly: Drowned”.

Ben has performed his cheeky style of magic on stages across the world including London’s West End as part of “The Illusionists”. He even wowed Kim Kardashian at a party in the South of France with a swallowing trick which left her desperately trying to work out how he did it.

This year Reach Plc – parent company of LeicestershireLive and BusinessLive – has taken the awards in-house for the first time in a decade and shaken up the categories to make them as relevant as they can be to the modern business world.

Tickets are on sale now through the Business Awards website here

Leicester Mercury editor Adam Moss said the awards night will be a great event, recognising the businesses, teams and individuals who have done so much to make the Leicestershire economy as resilient as it is today.

He said: “We’re delighted to be hosting these awards which celebrate the companies – big and small – and the entrepreneurs that are proud to call our city and our county their home.

“All the finalists, if proof were needed, are evidence of the quality of industry out there during these difficult economic times. I wish all the finalists well and am looking forward to meeting many of them on the night.”

As well as helping pick the winners of each category the judging team and LeicestershireLive business team will single out the business they believe has shown the greatest track record in recent months and years – which will be named the overall 2022 Business of the Year.

The overall winner does not have to be a large business – but a business of any size which has shown outstanding commercial success, employee support, innovation and creativity.

The night will also see a special lifetime award presented to someone who has given above and beyond to the local community and business scene.

Headline sponsors this year are top 50 full service commercial law firm Freeths Plc and the University of Leicester.

Reach Plc events director Jane Smallwood said the awards should be a night to remember.

She said: “Tickets are on sale now and we are busy ensuring a great evening for all the finalists and winners and their teams and families.

“It will also be a great event for the business community to get together and celebrate the best of the best in Leicestershire.”
