Reuben Foster carted off with leg injury at Redskins OTAs

Washington Redskins linebacker Reuben Foster left the field on a cart after suffering an injury during his first practice session with the team Monday.

According to observers on the scene such as ESPN’s John Keim, Foster was visibly upset after suffering an apparent left leg injury and couldn’t leave the field under his own power.

While the severity of the injury remains unknown, Foster is a big part of Washington’s defensive plans. They took a risk in claiming him off waivers after San Francisco released him. In April, the NFL announced it wouldn’t suspend Foster for violating league policies, and he decided to not appeal the fine. Bruce Allen has said the team has set strict tolerance policies for detrimental conduct from Foster.

Hardly a month removed from being cleared of a potential suspension, it sounds like Foster could miss significant time. We’ll have more as it unfolds, though here is a running roundup from those on the scene:
