Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain admits it was a “no-brainer” to extend his stay at Celtic after signing a new one-year deal.
The midfielder will remain at the club for the upcoming season after agreeing fresh terms, having joined the side in February, playing his part in a league and Scottish Cup double.
Now preparing for his first full campaign in Glasgow, the 32-year-old says he is eager to hit the ground running after only experiencing the latter stages of last term. “I’m really excited,” he said.
“I am delighted that we could get it done. I kept myself fit, kept plugging away, and hoped that I could get myself back up north.
“I am delighted that it’s been able to get done and excited to come in at the start of this season to feel like I’ve got a proper season with the boys and a pre-season.

Oxlade-Chamberlain made a strong impression following his mid-season arrival, contributing important goals and appearances as Celtic edged a dramatic title race before completing the double.
But it was the overall experience at the club that convinced the former Arsenal and Liverpool man to commit for another year. “I think the whole experience,” he added. “It wasn’t straightforward for the back end of that season, and how exciting it was; a dream ending for us all.
“I really liked the dressing room, the lads, the manager, and the coaching staff. I enjoyed the challenge the whole time. Regardless of how it finished, I enjoyed being part of that dressing room.
"It was a no-brainer for me. The fans and how special it was to see and feel that and be a part of it.
"I was delighted and excited to be able to try and do that for one more year.”
