It's been a while since we indulged ourselves. We know you've missed the Observer blog Monday top *whatever*.
So this week we are proud to unveil, as collated by a team of very clever people with not much else to do:
The Observer blog top 5 BAs
1. Sergeant Bosco "Bad Attitude" Baracus of the A-Team. He was accused of a crime he didn't commit. He made his way as a soldier of fortune in the Los Angeles underground. He didn't like flying. He was no fool.
Observer blog archivist rummages around in dusty filing cabinets.
And here's a little something for the A Team fans among our French readers.
2. Ba, the ancient Egyptian representation of the soul. Body of a bird, head of a man, useful in scrabble.
3. Barium, the element. Useful in medicine, in some paints and pigments and plenty of very clever chemistry stuff, we're sure.
4. The Bachelor of Arts degree, a piece of paper that proves you went to university. Useful for getting jobs and stuff, although getting less so, if you believe the grade inflation doomsayers.
5. British Airways, big airline, was useful for flying around the world, probably considered less so now. If you ask us, the rot set in when they introduced the "all day deli" for meals on European flights - sandwiches at all times instead of tepid food in dinky plastic plates under white hot foil, which is what airline food should be.
Their cost-cutting wheeze poorly disguised as gastro-innovation has cost them dear. They are now number 5 out of 5 in the Observer blog top 5 BAs. The shame of it.
