Veteran outfielder Ichiro Suzuki, making his first appearance of the spring since signing a contract to return to the Seattle Mariners, takes a cut during Sunday's exhibition game against the Cincinnati Reds in Peoria, Ariz. Batting lead-off and playing left field before being taken out in the fifth inning, Suzuki received a warm welcome from the large crowd, which chanted his name as he came to the plate in the first inning. "It's not possible for a player to not feel [appreciation] for that," said Suzuki, who went hitless in three at-bats with two strikeouts. In other action, double-duty rookie Shohei Ohtani went 1-for-3 as the designated hitter in the Los Angeles Angels' game against the Texas Rangers.
