PATNA: In course of my class at Super 30, I always tell my students to spare a little time while going to bed at night to analyse the outcomes of the day. How the day is spent lays the foundation for another day and it also lets one know how differently one can approach the next day to make amends for greater success and satisfaction.
I always tell my students to look back at the end of the day and think what new they have learnt or if they came across any new idea or approach. One must find at least 2-3 hours in a week or one full day in a month, cutting off from the usual routine, to retrospect and analyse. Be at peace with yourself. If you want, you can change the place to stay away from the usual routine, to give time to yourself for mental training.
If one can afford, one can shift to a new destination of one's choice - be it the bank of river or a hill station or may be just a nearby park offering serenity. This is when one can devote time to plan for the future, keeping in mind the past experiences and lessons learnt from the mistakes. We all make mistakes. The wise people learn not only from their mistakes, but also from the mistakes of others, as you cannot live long enough to make them all yourself.
Failures can be a stepping stone for success only if you are ready to make amends and bring about necessary changes in your actions and approach. Constant learning can lay the foundation for great success sooner or later.
Let all the ideas come to your mind and analyse. Raise questions on your own ideas and try to search for their answers. Never take whatever you think as the last word. That is like blocking new ideas from taking shape. Constantly learning is what makes room for new ideas. Those who don't learn cannot have new ideas.
Writing your thoughts and ideas is the best way for deep analysis. It gives you opportunity to improve and add new dimensions. Never undermine how others would take your ideas. Always have a wider perspective to keep in mind how others would take it. How the world will react to it? Nobody lives in isolation and no idea can flourish in isolation. It is important for sustained growth. If an idea is not workable, it remains an idea only. To take it to the next level, one needs recognition, which comes from the society at large. Take for example Albert Einstein's 'Theory of Relativity'. It was published in journals in 1905 and 1916, but the world realised its true potential when it was used in nuclear reactor in 1942.
Always keep in mind that the longevity of ideas is very small. It is important to make use of any idea before it loses relevance. New ideas come only with constant endeavour. Who knows, your one new idea can be a reason for great positive change in the world.
