Retro amusement arcade complete with a bar is opening in Leeds

A vintage amusement arcade is opening Leeds next week.

Arcade Club Leeds will open on Thursday (May 30) in the former Star and Garter Inn pub on Bridge Road in Kirkstall.

Two floors in the Grade II listed building will now host a café, a bar, a jukebox and a wide range of vintage video games from the likes of Namco, Sega and Atari.

The owners already have a popular venue in Bury, Greater Manchester, which has more than 250 classic arcade games spread across three floors.

A post on the arcade's official Facebook page said: "The great thing about Leeds is you can play all the great games we’ve had stored that are too large for the Bury venue."

The long list of games in the Leeds branch include Pinball, Berzerk, Scramble, Tekken 7, TANK! TANK! TANK!, Stargate, Robotron, Joust, Defender, Moon Patrol, Sinistar, Make Trax, Paperboy, Bubble Bobble, OutRun, Tron, After Burner Climax, Elevator Action: Death Parade and a Star Wars cockpit.

There is also the four-player Hot Rod.

Shooting games include Quick & Crash and GunBulletX.

Opening times will be posted on the arcade's Facebook page in the coming days.
