Retiring Dublin Airport security chief given great guard of honour as he left for the last time

A retiring Dublin Airport security chief was given a great guard of honour as he left work for the last time.

Tom O'Rourke was a former airport police chief and had spent four decades in the security operations of Ireland's busiest airport.

And he was given a gorgeous guard of honour today as he left the Airport campus and drove off into retirement.

Tom was awarded a full police escort as he happily drove away, waving to the camera for the final time.

"After 40 years, 3 months and 2 days, Tom O’Rourke retired from the daa today," Dublin Airport Police, Fire and Rescue Service said.

"[He was an] ex-Airport Police Chief and in his latter days with Security Compliance, all of us here at Dublin Airport would like to wish Tom a long and very happy retirement.

"Tom was given a fitting send off by his colleagues leaving the Airport campus today."
