Retirement question posed after Celtic invincible departs 14th career club

Scott Sinclair has departed Bristol Rovers, posing a question over his retirement.

The winger's contract at the club hasn't been renewed for the 2025/26 season.

Sinclair made 45 appearances for Rovers throughout the most recent campaign, scoring three goals and assisting one.

Now 36 years of age, because he currently doesn't have a club for next season, it remains to be seen whether the Celtic invincible will hang up his boots or continue to play on.

Sinclair took to Instagram yesterday after it was confirmed he won't be kept on at Bristol: "Thanks to all the fans who welcomed me back to this amazing club," he said.

"It has been a deeply disappointing season. Despite the ending, I'll always carry this club in my heart."

Rovers finished 22nd in English League One this year as their relegation to the fourth tier was confirmed.

Sinclair started his career at the club before departing for Chelsea in 2005 after making just two senior appearances.

He went on to play for 13 other clubs before returning to his boyhood side in 2022.

One of the most successful periods of Sinclair's career, of course, came at Celtic.

He spent three and a half prosperous years in Glasgow's east end, winning three consecutive trebles.

The Englishman made 167 appearances in green and white, scoring 62 goals and assisting 34. It remains to be seen whether he has decided to call it a day yet.
