Retired Packers QB Brett Favre says Instagram account was hacked

No, Brett Favre isn’t coming back.

After a post on his official Instagram account declared a return to the NFL, Favre told TMZ Sports that his account was hacked – and he’s definitely not unretiring.

In the original post, Favre’s account said he would be “coming out of retirement and making my return to play in the NFL for the 2020 season.” It included a photo of Favre, who retired after the 2010 season, in the moments right after winning Super Bowl XXXI with the Packers.

Here’s a screenshot of the full post, via Bleacher Report:

Favre eventually discovered the hack and deleted the post, ending the social media frenzy.

According to TMZ, Favre is still searching for those responsible for the hack.

Favre played 19 seasons in the NFL, and his No. 4 was retired by the Packers during the 2015 season. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2016. The Ol’ Gunslinger will turn 50 in October.
