Retired Giants legend Harry Carson to head Fritz Pollard Alliance

With John Wooten stepping down, former New York Giants great and Pro Football Hall of Famer, Harry Carson, will be assuming the role of chairman of the Fritz Pollard Alliance.

The Fritz Pollard Alliance is a 501(c)(6) membership organization comprised of scouts, coaches, and front office personnel in the NFL as well as other sports professionals committed to equal opportunity in the industry.

The organization was formed in Washington, D.C. in 2003 as “an affinity group of NFL minority coaches, scouts and front office personnel. During the last couple of years the FPA has worked with the NFL to develop hiring guidelines for front office and scouting positions as well as talent development programs. The FPA advocates for policy changes in the NFL hiring practices and working in partnership with the NFL to create opportunities for minority candidates.”

Carson has been the executive director of the FPA and was on hand this past January to present Giants’ Senior Vice President of Medical Services, Ronnie Barnes, with a lifetime achievement award.
