The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested its recently retired Superintendent of Police N.M.P. Sinha for allegedly receiving a bribe of ₹25 lakh in lieu of the favours extended to an accused.
“Mr. Sinha has been arrested along with a private person. Searches were carried out at eight places in Ranchi, Delhi and nearby locations. The case in which the bribe was allegedly taken pertains to Usha Martin,” said a CBI official.
Mr. Sinha retired from service in August. He was last posted with the Economic Offences Wing of the agency. The accused official was earlier part of the team which had investigated the fodder scam in Bihar.
