Retford thief banned from town to protect community

A thief was banned from a Retford for two years. Shane Hulls, 32, of no fixed address was handed the sentence after he appeared at Mansfield Magistrates Court on Wednesday (March 30).

Hulls was sentenced to a 12 month community order and a nine month drug rehabilitation order. He was also ordered to pay compensation for two thefts from motor vehicles earlier this year in January.

A criminal behaviour order was also granted for Hulls that prevents him from entering Retford Town Centre as defined by the blue boundary line for two years. This is a result of a period of anti-social behaviour displayed by Hulls.

The order aims to prevent him from targeting the areas most affected by his behaviour and to protect the community and businesses within that area. If Hulls is seen in breach of the conditions on his order, anyone can contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101.
