Consumer goods retailers and producers received advice on how to launch their businesses overseas at a Guardian seminar in London on Thursday.

Tim Westwell, co-founder of Pukka Herbs, Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, founder of The House of Laurence and Rob Forkan, co-founder of Gandys Flip Flops were among the speakers at the Guardian Trade Boost retail event.

The seminar, sponsored by UPS in association with UKTI, aimed to help equip small businesses with the knowledge and skills to boost their exports and to better position their brand globally. Entrepreneurs shared their stories of launching into new countries and what they had learned along the way. How to build brand awareness in new markets and the advantages and challenges of online marketplaces were among the topics discussed.
