Retail sales up 7pct in November

Retail sales for November climbed by seven per cent as Victorians embraced shopping. (AAP)

Retail sales surged by seven per cent in November helped by Victorians enjoying a full month at the shops, free of coronavirus restrictions.

Seasonally-adjusted data published on Tuesday showed Victoria's retail sales grew by 21 per cent, after many shops were allowed to re-open in late October.

South Australia had little change to its result, according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics figures, after a short coronavirus lockdown due to the Parafield cluster.
