Retail giant Frasers Group Plc coming to Braehead shopping centre next year

The firm behind House of Fraser is coming to Braehead shopping centre next year as the retail giant announces it has taken over two units at the Renfrew site.

Fraser Group Plc, which owns the well-known store, has taken over a new 24,000 sq ft and 12,000 sq ft unit both on a 15-year lease.

The announcement is one of many new shops which are set to open in the retail and leisure site - which welcomes around 16million people a year - in the coming months.

The centre, which is operated by SGS, is set to receive a further boost to its fashion offering with Pink Vanilla signing on a 2,400 sq ft space for five-years.

Designer cards, gifts and stationery retailer Paperchase, meanwhile , has taken up 1,500 sq ft of space on a five-year lease.

Accessories retailer Claire’s has extended its lease on its existing unit and American Candy has relocated and expanded its space – taking on a 3000 sq ft unit.

Yankee Candle, retailer of scented candles and other accessories, meanwhile, has also renewed in its 3000 sq ft store.

Italian restaurant chain Prezzo - which is currently operating in the shopping complex - has re-signed on 3,900 sq ft of space, on a lease of 10 years.

Steve Gray, Head of European Retail Asset Management at Global Mutual, said: “We are thrilled to welcome a host of new retailers, and to renew terms with some of our noteworthy existing tenants – reflecting a positive outlook for the year ahead and as restrictions ease.

A spokesperson from Paperchase said: “We are delighted to be able to offer the shoppers of Braehead a new and joyful shopping experience with us.

"It’s not been an easy time for anyone but we are thankful for our loyal customers who have inspired us to step up our game with store design and just know this new store is going to pack a punch!”
