A section of Blantyre's main road through the town is set to shut for vital resurfacing works next month.
The short stretch of Glasgow Road, the A724, near to the centre of the town will be shut for a total of four days to allow the works to take place.
The road will close from 8am on the morning of Tuesday, September 7 to 6pm on Friday, September 10.
The work involves the section of the road from Mayberry Place, at St Joseph’s Church, to Station Road and will require a full closure of this section of Glasgow Road.
South Lanarkshire Council Head of Roads and Transportation Colin Park told Lanarkshire Live : "We are putting a plan in place to ensure residents and businesses will have access to their premises maintained throughout the period of these works.
"However, there may be periods where access to specific properties will be delayed while work is ongoing outside those addresses.
"For those who are affected it may be more convenient to park outside the area of the road closure while work is underway.
"However there will be Traffic Marshals and other site staff on hand to provide advice and assistance during the working day."
A diversion will be in place via B758 Bardykes Road, B758 Hunthill Road, B7012 Main Street, Auchinraith Road and A724 Glasgow Road, Blantyre.
All road users should allow additional time for all journeys which involve the use of A724 Glasgow Road through Blantyre and travel should be planned accordingly.
