Restaurant worker unknowingly turns away Adam Sandler after not recognising him

A restaurant has revealed how she unknowingly turned away Adam Sandler after not recognizing him in a face mask.

Adam Sandler and one of his daughters, both wearing face masks, went to IHOP, a diner known for serving pancakes 24/7.

But after the 54-year-old actor was told it would be a 30-minute wait, he left.

The waitress, Dayanna Rodas, posted a video on TikTok, which included security footage of Sandler and his daughter, as she revealed she didn't recognise the actor at all in his face mask.

The video, which has since been viewed more than 9.7 million times, was captioned, "Pleaseee come back #comedy #fyp #foryou #viral #adamsandler."

The video included the message, "Not realizing it's Adam Sandler and telling him it's a 30-minute wait and him ofc leaving because he's not going to wait 30 minutes for IHOP."

Security footage showed Sandler and his daughter chatting with the waitress for a moment before leaving.

Since being posted, the video has been liked more than 2.1 million times and has received thousands of comments from people who were both stunned that she didn't recognise him and praised him for being so "humble."

One person said: "Howwww did you not recognise him? Just look at the fit."

Another person said: "The fact that he just took the wait time and left instead of throwing tantrum like regular customers do who aren't even celebrities."

"At least he didn't use his fame to rush anything he left like a normal person would," commented a third.

And: "How'd you not recognise him with those shorts? It's his signature look," added another.

Sandler's publicist confirmed to The Huffington Post that it was Sandler in the video, but did not provide any further details.
