Restaurant's scathing message to abusive customers saying its staff 'deserve better'

A popular restaurant has issued a hard hitting message after its staff faced a swathe of verbal abuse from customers.

Sam's Diner pleaded for customers to be kind to its employees and said it will not tolerate them being cursed at and made to feel rubbish.

Anyone caught being nasty to staff will be banned from eating at the diner in Par, Cornwall.

Bosses said they "will not tolerate our staff being verbally abused" in a post shared via social media on Saturday, reports Cornwall Live.

"It's sad and disappointing that we have to write a post like this," it continued.

"After an excellent service today at The Diner, a grown woman thought she would have a go at a member of staff.

"This isn't acceptable and won't be tolerated."

The family-run business, operated by husband and wife duo Sam and Emma, is one of the most well-loved restaurants in the area.

Staff explained that most workers at the restaurant are young, hard working, and always have a smile on their face.

"We will not tolerate our staff being talked down to, and made to feel rubbish, cursed at, and won't accept unkind gestures," the post added.

"Your Sam's experience is important to us, and we will not allow one grown up woman to get us down as we are The Sam's team."

Dozens of people flocked online to praise the diner for supporting its staff members and highlight their "excellent" service.
