Ordering food online is a comforting thing for us. But, in a shocking incident, the death of a restaurant owner in Greater Noida by a delivery boy has raised concerns regarding how safe it is to order food online?
The deceased has been identified as Sunil, who used to run Zam Zam food delivery restaurant in Greater Noida’s Mitra Society.
As per news reports, a Swiggy delivery boy came to the Zam Zam food delivery restaurant in Greater Noida’s Mitra Society at 12.15 AM on Wednesday to collect an order of chicken biryani and puri sabzi. The restaurant worker handed over the chicken biryani to the delivery boy and mentioned that the other order would take some time, to which the delivery boy got infuriated over this and broke out a fight with the worker.
Later, when the owner intervened, the delivery boy shot at his head. The owner was immediately taken to Yatharth Hospital where he was declared dead.
As per local police, the accused was under the influence of alcohol and he was accompanied by another man, who helped him in killing the owner. A case of murder has been registered and police is studying the society's CCTV footages to trace the accused.
