Nov. 27--Farm Bar: The Farmheads Group (behind Farmhouse in River North and Evanston) has a new concept in Lakeview. Farm Bar, which opened Nov. 16, is now dishing out craft beer and bar food made from locally sourced ingredients.
The company's own Brown Dog Farm in Mineral Point, Wis., grows more than 140 types of apples, pears, cherries, black walnuts and elderberries, and houses an apiary with 12 beehives.
Menu selections at Farm Bar include a beer-battered trout melt on marble rye, spicy goat sausage poutine with white cheddar gravy and a pickled autumn squash salad with caramelized wild mushrooms. Find two dozen beers on tap, plus bittersharp and bittersweet cider.
The restaurant seats around 60 people: 45 in the dining room and 15 at the bar. Hours: 5 p.m. to midnight daily. 1300 W. Wellington Ave., 773-281-2599.
Piggyback BBQ: Can't get enough barbecue in your life? On Nov. 16, the Forest Park tavern brought its second location to downtown Chicago. The new restaurant will seat around 100, with an additional 80 seats outdoors during the patio season.

Garrett Popcorn: The Chicago popcorn shop opens at Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg on Nov. 27, just in time for Black Friday shopping. This newshop will offer items not available downtown, including CaramelCrisp nut popcorn dipped in either milk or dark chocolate.
