The Ayrshire hospitality group behind Scotts at Troon Harbour and the Port Edgar Marina on the Firth of Forth has created a £60,000 bursary to support local community projects.
Buzzworks Holdings announced the fund to support organisations where the company operates including Ayrshire, Renfrewshire and West Lothian.
The family-run company, based in Prestwick, is one of Scotland’s fastest growing independent restaurant and bar operators, managing 11 venues through its four brands – Scotts, House, Lido & Vic’s & The Vine - bringing in an annual turnover of over £18 million.
Projects of all sizes are being asked to apply for a share of the bursary through their local Buzzworks venue website, with each request decided by local committees.
Kenny Blair, Buzzworks managing director, said: “Buzzworks Community Bursary provides an opportunity for charities and community groups of all sizes to apply for a share of funds and we’re looking forward to hearing from applicants on how we can help create a positive impact for many.
“This is something that’s always been important to us as a business and why we formally introduced Buzzworks Giving Back in 2014 – since then, we have donated more than £100,000 to local good causes. The opening of our new community bursary is an extension of that allowing us to offer support to more local groups, schools, individuals, community projects and good causes than ever before.”
The Buzzworks Community Bursary will be reviewed on a quarterly basis, and the closing deadline is on 31 October 2019.
