Restaurant closed until further notice due to staff member showing Covid symptoms

A Nottinghamshire restaurant has temporarily closed its doors after a staff member complained of Covid-19 symptoms.

The Circle Eatery, in High Road, Beeston, took immediate action, closing until further notice.

They alerted customers in a Facebook post, saying: "For the protection of you and our staff, we will remain closed whilst we await their results.

"In the meantime, a deep clean will be carried out and we have asked our remaining staff to also be tested.

"Sorry for any inconvenience, we hope to be serving you again soon."

The Circle Eatery, which specialises in pizzas and serves breakfasts, lunches and evening meals, has recently marked its first anniversary in the town.

But it's been a particularly tough week for the restaurant, owned by Javid Omoomian

Last Friday staff were sworn at for asking customers to wear a mask when entering or moving around.

"These aren’t our rules. You may not like wearing a mask but we really can’t afford to be paying a thousand pounds for a fine," they said.

"You may not like wearing a mask but people feel more comfortable sitting in our restaurant when people walking past them are wearing a mask.

"We understand some people are exempt. But don’t be offended when we ask to prove it. We are just doing our best. Please be kind."
