Restaurant CCTV catches man 'sprinkling his own pubic hair over food' - before complaining

A man has been caught on CCTV seemingly sprinkling his own pubic hair over his dinner to try and get his meal for free.

The diner, who was visiting an Indian restaurant in Blackburn, tried to complain about the hair to staff and get off without paying for the £55 platter.

But when management at Jaan's BBQ reviewed their security footage, they found that the man can be seen with his hands inside his shorts twice.

The footage then appears to show him sprinkling something over his food.

The pair of customers had ordered £67 worth of food from the restaurant, including a 'mega platter' loaded with curries, grilled meats, kebabs and naan breads meant to serve four people.

Jaan's BBQ owner Ahmed Waseem, 47, says the men made a huge scene, claiming they'd found someone else's hair in their food and allegedly refusing to pay.

Ahmed also says they started shouting and swearing at the restaurant staff.

The team were apparently suspicious after finding 'pube-like' hairs on the food, and checked the CCTV.

"When my son showed me the video everybody was shocked,” said Ahmed.

"It was disgusting and a disaster."

Following the 10 minute row, the customers threw £20 at their waiter and left.

Ahmed reported it to the police.

He added: "When he entered my restaurant he ordered a big platter, I told him it’s a £55 platter for four people.

"He said he was hungry."

But Ahmed claims the young men – who he says looked 26 or 27 years old – suddenly went berserk and started abusing him.

Ahmed added: "He was speaking bad words and shouting and said: ‘Look, the hair is in the food’.

"I apologised and said we will give you new food, he was asking for us to give him money back.

"I apologised because the customer is always right, he was shouting and saying: ‘Look f*****g here’.

"Money isn’t the problem.

"The problem here is young people who are insulting to me."

Lancashire Police have been approached for comment.
