Nottingham Forest boss Chris Hughton says there will not be “wholesale” changes to his squad in January.
The Reds made 14 signings in the summer, although only Anthony Knockaert arrived after Hughton had replaced Sabri Lamouchi at the helm.
That transfer business hasn’t yet quite translated into results on the pitch, however, with Forest struggling just above the relegation zone ahead of facing Watford at the City Ground.
And while Hughton has already spoken of his wish to make a few “tweaks” - with both incomings and outgoings likely - he is not planning a big rebuilding job when the transfer window opens.
Asked if the run of games before then might determine what he looks to do next month, the manager told NottinghamshireLive: “That process will go right through to the start of January and through to the end.
“I’m conscious that we brought in a lot of players in the summer - looking at the players that we’ve got here and the numbers we’ve got here.
“There are players here who I haven’t seen yet, or who haven’t been available to play yet.
“My responsibilities are more to them.
“Certainly for anything that will happen, I can tell you now, there won’t be anything wholesale happening in January, that’s for sure.
“At this moment, if I’ve got a fit squad, then it’s a very good squad.
“I certainly don’t see major activity in January.”
