'Respect' - What Andre Ayew did as Nottingham Forest celebrate survival at Crystal Palace

Nottingham Forest celebrated survival with their fans on the final day of the season at Crystal Palace as the Reds ended the campaign with a 1-1 draw.

The Reds had taken the lead through Taiwo Awoniyi but Palace fought back to level through Will Hughes.

Forest had already been assured of safety after their win over Arsenal last weekend which meant a stress free day in the capital.

But there were jubilant scenes at the final whistle as the players went over to the supporters, although Andre Ayew appeared not to join in.

Instead, the striker, who has made just 13 appearances this term and started one game, stood back and clapped.

Some Forest fans were quick to spot his actions and here's what they had to say on social media as other supporters revelled in the memorable scenes.

Debs: "See how Ayew stays back. Respect!"

Elonmusk7273838: "Feel sorry for Ayew."

Nick Fletcher: "Why didn’t Ayew join in?"

Shazal123: "How can you not love these fans and players in unity."

Tony: "So incredibly proud to be part of this fan base and a supporter of this club and these players."

Tom: "It’s one thing to create a good atmosphere in the stands. It’s another thing entirely to create a club culture that brings players and fans together like this. The love is beyond mutual. We lift each other up, we’ve got each others backs. It's Cooperball. That’s how it works."
