Residents urged to get behind Vale dancers bidding to win Disney challenge

Two Vale dancers have been keeping busy during lockdown with a very special Disney challenge – and they need your support!

Leah Aitken, 11, and Skye Ford, 10, are pupils at the Sandra Lees School of Dance in Jamestown and have made the finals of the International Gathering of Scottish Highland Dancers (IGSHD ChoreoMagic Dance at Home Challenge.

Each choreographed their own Highland dance routine, complete with music and costumes, with Skye choosing Mother Gothel from the hit film Tangled, and Leah choosing The Little Mermaid baddie, Ursula the sea witch.

Teacher, Sandra Lees said: “Many of my pupils worked really hard on routines to enter into this competition and I’m very proud of all of them. I’m delighted we have two finalists and would love it if the community could come together and support them.”

To go forward to the Grand Final this week, both girls need you to vote for them. All you need to do is click here and like photos 3 and 8 before midnight on Friday (May 15).
