Bushfire in the City of Cockburn, in Perth's south, downgraded after more than 80 homes saved

An emergency warning has been lifted for parts of Aubin Grove and Banjup.(ABC News)

A second bushfire emergency warning issued in Perth's south in the space of an hour has been downgraded after a blaze forced residents to evacuate.

The fire broke out in Aubin Grove in the City of Cockburn yesterday afternoon.

The fire has been contained and brought under control and the Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) said there was no threat to lives or homes.

DFES said more than 80 homes had been saved.

A bushfire advice remains in place for people in the area bounded by Lyon Road, Gibbs Road, Beenyup Road, Freycinet Circuit and Cape Range Crescent, in Aubin Grove and Banjup.

About a dozen firefighters are mopping up, patrolling and monitoring the area, DFES said.

The fire burnt through about 6 hectares of land.

'Difficult' conditions for crews

The fire started near the intersection of Nornalup Close and Aubin Grove Link in Aubin Grove.

Bureau of Meteorology senior forecaster Steph Bond said last night that south-westerly winds of about 30 to 40 kilometres per hour and wind gusts of up to 55kph were forecast to continue throughout the evening.

Ms Bond said these conditions "may make things a little bit difficult" for firefighters, but the wind was expected to ease by the morning.

"Overnight though those winds will turn south to south-easterly and reduce in speed to about 20kph, so hopefully they will be able to get that fire under control soon," she said.

"It sounds like they're doing their best."

About 60 firefighters were battling the blaze last night, which started just after 2.30pm yesterday and forced the closure of several roads.

DFES said all roads had been reopened.

Firefighters earlier contained a nearby fire in Bibra Lake.(ABC News)

It was the second fire emergency in Perth yesterday afternoon after a nearby fire was sparked near Children's theme park Adventure World and the Cockburn Ice Arena in Bibra Lake.

That fire, about 10 kilometres away, was also contained.

The warning, which covers an area between Progress Drive and North Lake Road, has been downgraded to an advice level.
