Residents under evacuation orders due to multiple wildfires burning in the Los Angeles area were urged to comply for the sake of their own safety and that of first responders.
Los Angeles Police Department Chief emphasized the importance of taking evacuation orders seriously during a news conference. He stressed that following these orders could be the difference between life and death. Chief Jim McDonnell highlighted the risks faced by both residents and first responders when evacuation orders are not followed.
He stated, 'When we believe that you’re in the path of the fire, we’re going to order that evacuation, and we really, really need your compliance on that, because if we have to send people in to try and make the rescues, those people are putting their lives on the line directly for something that could have been avoidable.'
Tens of thousands of people in the LA area are currently under evacuation orders or warnings due to the wildfires. The authorities are working diligently to ensure the safety of residents and are urging everyone to cooperate with the evacuation orders for their own well-being.
