Fuming residents have slammed a local council after double yellow lines were painted outside their homes, making them unable to park their cars.
Building manager Kevin Macfarlane, 58, has lived in Turnhouse Road, Edinburgh, for 15 years and always parked outside.
Neighbours were not consulted on the sudden changes which they say happened as people were at work earlier this week, leaving them unable to complain, Edinburgh Live reported.
He said: “I just came home for lunch from my work to find they have painted double yellow lines outside my home and on both sides of Turnhouse Road. It must have happened between 8.30am and 12.30pm.

“Neighbours are concerned about where they are going to park their cars from now on. Nobody has had any consultation from Edinburgh district council as to whether this was in the works or that it was going to happen.
“I don’t know what we are going to do now to park our cars. Most households have two cars, and although some have a driveway, not all of us do.
“Surely they can’t do this without consulting us?”
Unimpressed Derek Smith added: “Surely the main issue here is the fact that parking restrictions and notification of law changes were made without consultation.
“All house owners should have been notified of the proposed changes and all should have had the opportunity to challenge the changes before the laws were changed.
“I’m surprised the council didn’t do that? Surprised also the council didn’t offer residents parking at areas where there were no dropped kerbs.”
Another added: “Absolutely typical of developers having no thought for residents near new developments.
“That road has been free of parking restrictions for as long as I can remember and all of a sudden residents will have to put up with double yellow lines.”
Edinburgh City Council transport and environment convener, Scott Arthur, said of the changes: “Double yellow lines have been proposed on Turnhouse Road as part of the nearby West Craigs development.
“A Traffic Regulation Order is required for this kind of change, and as part of the order’s promotion residents are able to view and comment on plans.
“As the order for Turnhouse Road has not yet been promoted we will be liaising with developers about the changes that have been made, and steps to remedy the situation.”
