Residents told 'don't approach' naked man seen several times in the past week

Police have warned people this morning to contact them if they spot a naked man roaming the New Forest. A local resident spotted the man earlier this week just after 6.30am. It is understood the man has been seen several times on the track between a golf course and woods.

Officers have been hard at work since before dawn this morning (September 24) in an attempt to find the man. The advice from the force is not to approach the man, but to contact police if you see him, reports Dorset Live.

Officers from the New Forest Heart Cops team will be out again tomorrow to track down the naked man. The force took to social media to inform residents of the situation.

In a Facebook post, officers wrote: "Good morning - we’ve been up since just before dawn this morning looking for a man who walks naked between Lyndhurst and Ashurst. A local resident saw him earlier this week just after 6.30 am. He’s been seen several times on the track that runs parallel to the A35, especially between the underpass from the golf course behind the cemetery at Bolton’s Bench, through the woods and to the bridges that go over the river as you walk towards Ashurst.

"We’ve been looking for him and carrying out reassurance patrols and our advice is if you do see him, don’t approach him and call us immediately. We will back out on patrol in the area tomorrow morning too."
