Residents spot man doing "wheelies" on stolen motorbike in Drylaw – police enquiries ongoing

A man was spotted doing "wheelies" on a stolen motorbike in the Drylaw area of Edinburgh at the weekend.

Concerned residents made police aware of the rider's actions and officers made their way to the area.

However when they arrived they found that the bike had been abandoned, and was then identified as stolen.

Roads Policing Scotland took to social media to share news of the incident on Sunday evening, and now say that enquiries are ongoing in a bid to trace and notify its rightful owner.

There have been a number of instances of motorbikes being stolen in Edinburgh in recent months.

Edinburgh Live reported last month that three motorbikes had been stolen in the north of the city, and in June only vigilance from members of the public stopped an expensive motorbike from being stolen while parked on the A1 Willowbrae Road.
