Report of men being chased with machetes as police confirm 'bladed weapons' involved in Hyson Green disturbance

Nottinghamshire Police has confirmed "bladed weapons" were involved in what has been described as a "disturbance" in Hyson Green.

One resident told Nottinghamshire Live her family saw "a group of four men, two chasing with machetes and others running scared for their lives" on Bank Holiday Monday (May 27).

The police said the incident happened at 2.45pm in Radford Road and officers were reported to be at the scene - however no officers were publicly visible at around 7am on May 28.

Officer in the case, Detective Inspector Daniel Johnstone, said: "We can confirm that there were bladed weapons involved in the incident.

"Officers remain at the scene and are investigating local CCTV footage.

"There have been no reports of any injuries.

"Enquires are continuing and if anyone has any information, dash-cam or mobile phone footage please call 101, quoting incident number 494 of May 27, 2019."

No arrests have been made and no injuries were reported.
