Residents rename road from Wales Street to England Street for Euro 2020 final

Diehard football fans on Wales Street have renamed their road England Street ahead of the Euro 2020 final on Sunday.

Homes in the street have been adorned with the red and white England flags and residents have created a matching street sign to sit above the original.

Many people will be watching the game from their living rooms and Wales Street resident Eddie Leatherbarrow has been spotted with an assortment of England-themed flags flying from his home.

Residents of the road in Oldham, near Manchester, decided the renaming and decorating was a perfect way to show support for their team in Sunday's final.

The road looks patriotic ahead of Gareth Southgate's side's clash with Italy at Wembley Stadium.

England beat Denmark at Wembley on Wednesday to get to Sunday's tournament final.

Some companies in England are offering late starts to their employees on Monday to allow them to enjoy the match properly the preceding evening.

And Prime Minister Boris Johnson has been faced with calls for a Bank Holiday should England be successful on Sunday.

A petition which appeals to the Prime Minister to grant the extra holiday has gained more than 300,000 signatures meaning it must be debated in Parliament.
