Residents in a crime-hit area of Rochdale have taken to social media to try to snare a man who is believed to have stolen at least one car and targeted several homes.
The bespectacled man, thought to be in his 50s wearing sports apparel and sometimes donning a hoodie, has been videoed outside a home in Mere Lane, Deeplish.
He is suspected of stealing a VW Passat.
The victim, who wants to remain anonymous said: "If anyone has any information on who this guy is, please share so we can track him down and hopefully get our car back.
"It had all my family's ID documents, some important paperwork and my wallet in the car.
"He is a white male with black and orange trainers, black puma bottoms and navy track top with a black under armour cap."
Responding to the post on the Rochdale Name & Shame website, a contributor said he thought he could identified the man and the street where he lives.
An image of apparently the same man was posted by another resident in Kirkholt, not far from Deeplish. It said the man was 'going round opening people’s house doors to steal.
"He was seen and chased on Darley road in Kirkolt. A name would be appreciated."
A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said police in Rochdale were investigating residents' concerns.
As reported by the Manchester Evening News, other residents in the area have voiced concern over individuals suspected of stealing from cars in Deeplish.
