Residents on quiet South Dublin street searching for mystery attempted car thief after unsuccessful crime spree

Residents of a quiet Dublin suburb are searching this morning for a mystery woman who allegedly attempted to break into a number of cars parked along a street.

The woman apparently made her way along Palmer Park in Dublin 16 in the early hours of Tuesday morning, chancing her arm by trying to break in to any unlocked cars she went past.

The mystery attempted thief seemingly made off with nothing, however, as all the cars along the road were locked.

A description of the woman was posted in a local Facebook group, reminding residents to keep on their toes and always check the locks before they head to bed.

The post read: "A woman was seen at 2.30am/3.am in Palmer Park trying car doors all along the road.

"Don't think she managed to open any, and walked down towards Taylor's Lane.

"[She was] average height fairly thin, dark hair, dark clothing, around 40-odd years old."

Dublin Live have contacted An Garda Siochana for comment.
